History

The St Boniface Church was started on November 27,1960, to serve the spiritual needs of Anglicans in the newly-developed Harbour View Housing Scheme, Established initially as a Mission of The St. Michael’s Cure’ its services and Sunday School classes were conducted in the homes of two members until 1966, when the Harbour View Primary School became the new venue for worship.
On Ash Wednesday, February 24, 1970,
the Diocesan Bishop, the Rt.. Rev’d. J. Cyril Swaby, dedicated the new St. Boniface Church building, constructed on approximately a 2 1/2 acres of land between the Gypsum Company and the new Donald Quarrie Comprehensive High School, on The St Thomas Main Road.

St. Boniface was weaned from the St. Michaels Cure in 1978 and, along with The St. Martins Mission in Bull Bay, formed a new Cure under the leadership of the Rev’d, Leslie Hoo Sang. St. Peter’s Church, Port Royal was added to the Cure on January 1,1984.
