Folks, I just returned form Yard Friday (8/24) and was there, I made the
Dean list.
If you are human these types of experiences will wake-up conscience and
make one appreciate life to its fullest, with the absence of things taken for
granted.
I cannot give a report of things across the Island
as my 9 day stay (extended 4 b/c of Dean) was strictly east Kingston....
Palisadoes Rd. was closed off, no access to the airport
for 2 days (late Sun & all of Mon.). To complicate matters,
a retaining wall at Gypsum burst adding to the woes along the road.
It is bad enough to move through the airport on a normal basis this storm made
it extremely difficult. An announcement was made to evacuate Port Royal,
not sure if it was heeded....
HV was not too bad, exceptions no water or light up to the time I left.
Most noticeable, a lot of the original (concrete) lamp posts are down.
Will make electricity longer to restore, hopefully I’m wrong....
I cannot say the same about Caribbean Terrace,
total devastation words cannot describe.
As an original man from the View (pre C. Terrace) in hind site,
those houses should not have been built.
Most of the land was build up from “dumping”.
That was the official site of HV early football & cricket teams
and many of early morning going to play ball you could clearly see evidence
of the ocean tidal movements over the previous night
(water line cover more than half the field)....
In addition, it was reported that the “vultures” were kicking of the resident’s
doors
before, during and, after the storm looting the homes. People saw them running
through
the View with their loot, no words here to describe those cats.
All this going on while waves were breaking at over 20 feet tossing cars back
and fort
like toys in the neighborhood, sickening. Officials are trying to condemn the
site,
which I believe would be a good move giving the weather patterns of
late....Webmaster,

Once again another smashing reunion...
it was great seeing all my old friends even those I didn't remember right off
hand but
I had a great time. Saturday night was also great with the food/drinks
and all but maybe to solve our issue with the music contending to everyone
is to have one of us younger ones on the committee that way we can cater to our
age group
since we seem to be forgotten.
Big up to Plume & Monique the Sunday BBQ was off the hook, not to mention the
food,
you all really threw down.

The "Picnic in the Park" was really short of activities -
more games (dominoes, cards, scrabble etc.) were needed.
Next time around, we all could take some games along.....
However, I considered it Part 2 of the "Meet and Greet" event,
seeing some more folks I had not seen for decades. Great time spent.
Kudoos to the Atlanta Team. Looking forward to Reunion '09....Washington????

I lived in Harbour View from 1961 - 1983 and I must say that some of the
pictures
brought back good memories of my childhood years, I saw people (in the pictures)
I haven't seen in years. Those were great times and Harbour View was a great
place to live.

It was my 1st time being in the ATL. and at HVIEW reunion, the meet & greet
was quite enjoyable
being able to see and chat with friends that i haven`t seen in awhile,
the park was the ultimate fun time 4 me but the dance wasn`t hot at all the
music was poorly selected
the dj wasn`t musically catering to everybody at all, may i suggest that MR
MIGRAINE
get the saturday nite gig the next time around.

Congratulations to the Atlanta Reunion committee on a job well done for
2007.
As many have already stated, it was a big success. I would like to make a
suggestion for future reunions...We must remember that some people
now have family that include kids of all ages.
Day at the park could include activities to keep the kids involved.
Smaller kids occupied themselves on the playground,
but I saw older kids standing around while parents were busy socializing with
friends.

The Reunion was a resounding success and enjoyable,
however, as some have already mentioned, the music for the Saturday night party
should have been absolutely supplied by DJ MIGRAINE our own Community bredda,
who would have satisfied ALL age groups!!
The Meet and Greet session and The Picnic in the Park was exceptional!
The football match H/View 3 - Trini 1 was great too and perfectly timed after
the picnic.
I felt at home cheering on the team loudly as though I was at the Compound.
Big up to sponsors Grace & Air Jamaica.
Knolly the CD a say one and Georgie the Social in Lithonia fantastic...
even you could have played at the party on Saturday night!!!!
It was so IRIE seeing all my brethren.

The Harbour View Committee MUST be commended for yet another wonderful
reunion!
The Meet-n-Greet and Picnic went REALLY well!! However,
I can't say the same for the Saturday night party because majority of
the music was from yester year. Don't get me wrong,
I do appreciate oldies and I understand that you can never please everyone,
especially since we had a wide range of age group,
but some RECENT SELECTIONS would have been much appreciated.
One suggestion which was echoed the whole night was to let Migraine spin at the
night party.
Migraine played some wicked selections at the park
and he should have played at the night party instead.
None-the-less, I had a great time and God's willing I'll attend the next reunion
with the hope that the night party will seal the deal.
It was good seeing everyone! Too many names to list here but
I would be remiss if I didn't mention names
like Fishhead, Bobby, Archie, Ruddi, Mike Channer, and Mitchell,
since its over 20 years I've seen you!!

I would like thank the committee members for a wonderful job at the Atlanta
reunion,
The only problem is the music, every reunion we have the same problem
the selection of music was very poor and it has been happening for last three
reunions.
I am appealing to the committee recruit new members
and let us get some new ideas so everyone can enjoy the reunion.
I was the one along with Ludlow and Midas who worked to get the Harbour View
youth 17 team
to play at the field at the same time as the reunion
and it save the reunion, alot of people were very disappointed and we need to
get together

Well, well, well!!! What can I say about the 2007 Habour View Reunion.
First I would like to thank my Wonderful Father GOD for making the reunion such
a success.
Then I would like to thank my fellow committee members for all their planning
and hard work to make this reunion a success.
I think the reunion was a big success, I totally enjoyed myself. It was so good

The reunion over the years has been a significant means of keeping the harbour
view family
together and this particular one was very important to a lot of us. However
I would really like for the committee to consider getting ideas from the younger
generation.
Additionally! there was alot of concern regarding the music,

Over the last three meetings the the selectors have been playing only to satisfy
a select few. A majority of the younger crowd would like to be consider
when the music selection is being made. Oldies are good, but please make the

I would like to add my congrats to Ms. Bond on winning the Tower Award for this
year.
I think its really fitting that she was recommended and awarded.
My two daughters, Michelle and Monique blossomed under her
loving hands and I am thankful that she was around for them at that tender age.
May God continue to shower her with His blessings.
