Harbour View Reunion
Mission Statement:

“To incite and maintain that special connection with the members of the Harbour View community, starting with the pioneers of the 1960’s.”

GOAL

Organize a social gathering where members of the community can re-connect, share great memories and maintain that special bond that continues to exist, even today, between the residents from the amazing neighbourhood known as “HARBOUR VIEW”.

PROCEDURES

bullet

Host a reunion in different geographical areas. This will give the interested host a chance to reconnect by organizing the reunion in their resident city.

bullet

The reunion will take place preferably on a weekend - could be 3 days or more: Friday - Meet and Greet, Saturday - picnic and dance, Sunday - open (breakfast, Church etc).

bullet

Each reunion should include a fund raising event, with an aim to give back to the community, by donating funds to organizations in need - e.g. established school, library or community organization in Harbour View.

CRITERIA FOR ORGANIZING THE REUNIONS

bullet

Host must be a member of the Harbour View community to spearhead the event.

bullet

*Advisory Committee will provide guidance on how the venue/host for a reunion will be chosen; (the committee will only work in an advisory capacity).

bullet

Bids must be submitted via mail to the *Advisory Committee, demonstrating why a particular city should be chosen to host the reunion. The deadline for receiving bids would be 8 weeks following the last reunion.

bullet

The selected host will be fully responsible for the reunion being held in their city. The only requirements are:

  1. The Webmaster along with one member of the Advisory Committee will serve on the Reunion Planning Committee and will be involved with the entire planning of the reunion. This person will be responsible for providing monthly updates to the Advisory Committee and then weekly updates will be given three months prior to the reunion.

  1. Within 3 months after accepting the challenge, the host city will disclose the date and give a brief description of the events planned to the Advisory Committee.

  1. The total cost of the registration for the reunion should include the cost of the T-Shirts (this way, all paying attendees will have a reunion T-Shirt and the revenue will be contributed to the fund raising account).

  1.  Once payment has been received and confirmed, the Planning Committee will immediately issue a written confirmation to the paid attendee via e-mail or regular mail.

  1. The Advisory Committee will be included in the agenda to address the gathering at the reunion.

  1. Within 3 weeks after the reunion, all proceeds from any fund raising should be handed over to the Advisory Committee.

  1. Funds should always be secured in an account, on which at lease 2 signatures are required to make a withdrawal.

bullet

Members of the Harbour View community must always strive to make each reunion one that we can look back on with great pride.

bullet

Focus must reflect all aspects of the community and not just part of the community
